These large reusable intermodal containers transport goods and are available in two sizes: 20 feet by 8 feet(6.10 meters x 2.40 meters) or 40 feet x 8 feet (12.10 meters x 2.40 meters):
The 20-foot containers are 160 square feet, while the 40-foot shipping containers offer 320 square feet of living space. Use as standalone home, commercial spaces or home office, the art of combining multiple containers to create a multilevel residence has become very popular the last 10 years. It has many different forms and
are rising in popularity as potential homeowners who seek out alternative building solutions to the traditional multi-bedroom house. 

Pros of the shipping container house
Durability, cost-effective, customizable, cost-effective (for re used containers), quick to construct, they are modular.

Cons of the shipping container house
Building permits depending on the location can be a hassle
Shipping containers are not always eco-friendly when purchasing new containers, but the maintenance is extended to 25 years against 15 for a reused container.
They often need reinforcements.
